Joyful Walls
Great art often comes with an inspiring or otherwise interesting story. Such is the case with Sugarboo Designs, a completely authentic and easy to love art business based in Roswell, Georgia.
Each of the handmade pieces in the Sugarboo collection are crafted from concept to completion by the company’s creator, Rebecca Puig.
Puig says that her art is inspired by many things including nature, antiques, children’s art, folk art and of course, her love for her beautiful family.

Feeling inspired? Well alright, let’s hang some art that’s been sitting around. Here are a few tips to get you started.
- Keep scale in mind. A grouping or single picture should occupy about 2/3 of the space of the piece of furniture it is hanging over to achieve the proper proportion.
- Find just the right height. When placing artwork over a piece of furniture such as a sofa or a table, hang it no higher than 6 – 9 inches over the furniture. If the art is visually light, test it at 3-5 inches, which may be even more visually appealing.
- Hallways are a cinch. The universally accepted height for hanging hallway art is 58 inches to the middle of the art.
- Hang it right to hang it once. Remember, heavy artwork is most secure when mounted to wall studs. This is your best bet when the art weighs over 20 pounds. Experts recommend using a wood screw, which does not require a wall plug typically used for dry wall.
